With the inauguration of a new terminal at Singapore airport a special attraction was installed. The project with a physical dimension of 200 x 30 m consists of 192 winches moving in a choreographed and synchronised way 96 petal shaped illumination profiles, each weighting roughly 40kg.
The installation process was highly synchronised with the involved construction companies (HVAC, MEP and general construction) and planners, so that the schedules were smoothly aligned.
The installation is located above people in the immigration and baggage claim area and hence, had to fulfil the highest safety standards. All safety relevant functions were designed to meet SIL3 standard.
